公元1300年左右, stak,指的是“一堆、一堆或一组东西”,尤指圆形或矩形的谷物堆(12世纪晚期用作姓氏),源自与古斯堪的纳维亚语 stakkr “干草堆”(与丹麦语 stak 、瑞典语 stack “堆、垛”同源),源自原始日耳曼语 *stakon- “一根桩”。据说这源自 PIE *stog-(也是古教会斯拉夫语 stogu “堆”、俄语 stog “干草堆”、立陶宛语 stokas “柱子”的来源),是根源 *steg-(1)“柱子、棍子”的变体(参见 stake(n.))。
